A Happy New Year Storytale!

So I have finally found some time to update! Our New Years trip to Prague was AMAZING!
Here a a few pictures of our trip with a storytale ending!

Going Over the Alps

Another plane passed just right under us,
in 30 years that I've been flying
I've never seen one go by that close!

First Evening in Prague - The Powder Tower by Night

The Civic House By Night

Second Day in Prague
The National Museum - 1796

You can actually still see all the bullet marks
on the facade from the various wars that have gone on
in the Czech Repubblic.
(they look like white patches)

Old Town Square and The
Church of Our Lady in front of Týn

(I like to pretend that it's not a Church
but Cinderella's Castel!)

Me In Old Town Square

Astronomical Clock or Prague Orloj
The oldest part of the Orloj, the mechanical clock and astronomical dial, dates back to 1410 when it was made by clockmaker Mikuláš of Kadaň. The Orloj is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months.

A view of Prague Castel and Malá Strana
meaning in English literally "Little Side"
The name comes from its position
on the left or west bank of the river Vltava.

Crossing over Charles Bridge into Malá Strana
The construction of the Bridge started in 1357
under King Charles IV,
and finished in the beginning of 15th century.
A view of Prague from up top near
the Castle (the largest castle in the world)
A Guard outside the Castel Gate
Enrico and a funny looking man!
Detail on the Castel Gate

Once you enter the Castel, the first thing you see smack right up in your face is Saint Vitus's Cathedral . It is a Roman Catholic cathedral and the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. Dating Back to 925! The present day Gothic Cathedral was founded on 21st of November, 1344. (That's still OLD!)

Inside The "Spanish" Synagogue built in 1868.
Despite its name, the synagogue was
never used by a Spanish or Sephardic congregation.

Old Town Square on New Year's Eve....
......
......
......

I had to get a picture with this CRAZY girl!
It was below freezing and all she had on was
a tiny dress and shoulder cover!

Blue Steel! Blue Steel!

And now for the farytale ending........................................................... Enrico Proposed after midnight!
We're Engaged!

He gave me the ring underneath the Powder Tower while walking back to the hotel. "A good start to 2009" is what he said! The Ring also has a story, the diamond was given to Enrico's Mother by her Mother-in-Law as an engagement gift! Enrico had it set on this beautiful Tiffany ring and now has given it to me!

..... and they lived happily ever after!
