Power Balance??? What??????

I really don't get it..... Do you?

"Power Balance is performance technology that uses holograms embedded with frequencies that react positively with your body’s natural energy field.

Balance • Strength • Flexibility

Most everything has a frequency inherent to it. Some frequencies react positively with your body and others negatively. When the hologram comes in contact with your body’s energy field, it allows your body to interact with the natural, beneficial frequency stored within the hologram. This results in improved energy flow throughout your body."

What the heck are they thinking???? Really, seriously, COME ON! I'm supposed to believe that a simple sticker or bracelet with a hologram on it will give me Balance, Strength and Flexibility???

I call it Placebo effect: A placebo is a sham or simulated medical intervention that can produce a placebo effect. In medical research, placebos depend on the use of controlled and measured deception.

In one common placebo procedure, a patient is given an inert pill, told that it may improve his/her condition, but not told that it is in fact inert. Such an intervention may cause the patient to believe the treatment will change his/her condition; and this belief may produce a subjective perception of a therapeutic effect, causing the patient to feel their condition has improved. This phenomenon is known as the placebo effect.

A big boooooooo to Power Balance, although I must say, whoever invented it is cashing in the $$$!

I guess the saying "Whatever floats your boat!" is duly correct here.

Nevertheless, yesterday some of our friends tried to convince us that it works and that it's true.... they made us do funny tests, some of which, of course, DID NOT WORK.

You can wear it...
Put it in your pocket
and it'll give you "super powers" .....
You can even stand on one leg with it.... oh wow!

Enrico making fun of the whole thing...
I just sat back and laughed, eating my strawberries...

Tyler and I tried that last year! His friend has us do all sorts of flexibility tests and I wasn't quite convinced, but I did see a difference when he had Ty do them. Who knows-- the mind is a powerful thing and it can convince our bodies to miraculous things if we want them to or believe hard enough. Looked like a good time either way!
