I love the end of August and beginning of September. Tourists go home, kids go back to school and Cagliaritani go back to work after
"Traditional August Vacation". That leaves the beaches a bit less packed and gives you time to enjoy the surrounding beaches of Cagliari. On Friday afternoon, Enrico took off from work early and we headed to
Chia. The afternoon could not have been more perfect! To get to the shore, you usually have to pass by the banks of a
lagoon but, since it hasn't rained since June, the lagoon is all dried up! We took a few cute "shadow" pictures during the sunset.
Here we are in the beautiful water at Chia (pronounced Kia)
Me!
A view of the shore line
We rented some beach chairs and umbrella from a Co-op
This is the dried up lagoon and us taking "shadow" pictures!
Enrico giving me a kiss! I think this is too cute!
A seagull's foot print in the dried up salt
And a poor fish that wasn't able to get back to sea before the lagoon dried up
On Sunday we went to
Villasimius, another beach town near Cagliari, here are a few pictures of what the day was like at
campulongu beach, just delightful!
